Welcome to Dr. Todd Pierson's June e-Newsletter!
How many times have you seen a lady that is near full term and looked really uncomfortable? She is usually leaning way back, holding her stomach, and walking in a duck stance. If you had the ability to help this mom to be much more at ease during the whole 40 week process, would you? Of course you would, but how?
Advise her to seek chiropractic care during pregnancy!
During pregnancy, physiological and hormonal changes occur. In creating a healthy environment for the developing baby, the hormones from pregnancy loosen joints which often can result in a misaligned spine or joint. This is often seen in the protruding of the abdomen, pelvic shifts, and changes in posture.
Also, pelvic balance and alignment are extremely important during pregnancy. When the pelvis is misaligned it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby. This restriction is called intrauterine constraint. A misaligned pelvis may also make it difficult for the baby to get into the best possible position for delivery.
Further, the nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems, including the reproductive system. Keeping the spine aligned with the help of chiropractic helps the entire body work more efficiently.
Chiropractic care during pregnancy can provide many benefits: maintaining a healthier pregnancy; controlling symptoms of nausea; reducing the time of labor and delivery; relieving back, neck, and joint pain; and preventing a potential cesarean section delivery.
